Marianne Manko

Marianne is an Evening TV News Anchor and Reporter for WAND -TV Newscenter 17, the NBC affiliate in Central Illinois. Prior to joining WAND she was the Evening Anchor/Reporter at both WICS ABC NewsChannel 20 and WRSP/WCCU FOX Illinois. Marianne moved to Central Illinois from Texas, where she was a freelance reporter in the state capital of Austin and an Evening Anchor/Reporter for KRGV NewsChannel 5. Marianne spent years working along the Mexican border, reporting on the violence that is far too common along our nation's border, including drug smuggling, drug cartels and illegal immigration. She also worked as a TV Weather Anchor/Reporter for WOFL Fox 35 in Orlando, and has more than 17 years reporting on hurricanes. Marianne was one of the first reporters to fly over the aftermath of Hurricane Andrew in South Florida in 1992 while working for Westwood One Broadcasting, and helped organize evacuation routes with the Florida Department of Transportation while working as an airborne traffic reporter over Orlando. Marianne has held nearly every position in the TV and radio news business in her more than 30 years in the business, literally reporting from land, air and sea. She has reported on family issues, health, weather, crime and politics. Marianne has lived in Illinois since 2007 and currently sits on the Board of Directors for Kidzeum in Springfield.
